Well, you can, although I wouldn’t recommend it, it won’t play the notes a well as they should and isn’t always good for the amp itself.

You need a bass amp, because a guitar amp is not designed to play the low notes a bass guitar plays. You will wear out the speaker(s) in it pretty quick if you use it. Why use the guitar amp if you have a bass amp?
umm if u plug a bass guitar to an electric guitar amp, the amp may get bad…
but not the other way around…when u plug an electric guitar to a bass amp….
don’t do that, man… it will sound like garbage.
Absolutely not the low frequencies that a bass produces will simply fry a standard guitar amp circuits as well as blow the speakers you can play a guitar through a bass amp many players prefer it there just wont be the effects you get with most guitar amps but to answer your question no you cannot play bass through a guitar amp it will cause catastrophic damage
Well, using a bass with an electric guitar amp is really bad for the amp itself, and if used to extreme levels, could harm your bass’ mechanics. The speaker(s) in an electric guitar amp are not made to handle the low sounds emitted by a bass guitar. I would definitely not recommend it…
You can use it but it won’t sound very good. Guitar amps aren’t meant for the low frequencies. You may get by if you use it as a practice amp but if you crank it to play with a band with a drummer you may damage the speaker. Look into bass combo amps above 150 watts with one 15 inch speaker. Peavey is a good value. Guitar Center and other stores are hurting for business these days so look for coupons and exploit their 0% financing deals with their credit cards. Good luck.
