How to get a beatles tone out of a fender jazz bass?
Question by Where’s the Beef: How to get a beatles tone out of a fender jazz bass?
Hey guys my names Chris, and I won a fender jazz bass. I love to do beatle covers, but i can’t get my bass to sound anywhere near the same as paul’s ric or hofner. Does anyone have any EQ settings on my amplifier that I could use to get a good tone for beatles’ songs?

Uhm oh jesus christ, haven’t worked with a fender jazz in so long. My slap bass has a pretty nice sound when it comes to paul’s work but i’m trying to remember how i got the jazz bass to do the same. I had a RAT bass professional gig amp it was extremely expensive and i worked with it when my band did a lot of Queen. For some reason i tried a different setting. I think the setting was more muffled. I don’t know exactly but whatever i did it worked like perfection to the beatles. I’m sure if you play around with it you’ll get something close to paul’s hofner.
If it’s not the actual bass try getting a new practice or gig amp. Just don’t get a crappy one made in china(;
