What type of lacquer is used for bass guitars?

Question by Tee Banana: What type of lacquer is used for bass guitars?
I would like to know the type of lacquer one would use as a finish for the body of a bass guitar. Brand, consistency, etc. I know it’s pretty heavy-duty, but that’s all I know. Thank you.

Guitars are normally coated with either lacquer or nitrocellulose in either a gloss or matte finish. Other guitars can be open pore, or unfinished, etc… but when its got a lacquer on it, those are the 2 typically.
