Sounds amazing, a true classic. I have a 1960 P with rosewood board and the maple sounds better IMO. Beautiful bass.

what about the world famous dead-spots on this fender bass?

It’s not the same. John made his own puting together pieces of various P-basses. The Pickup + tone control were from a slab-body P-bass (only 20 were made; John smashed 3!), so that growl you hear is not usual to hear on other Precisions.

it’s just my opinion…well that’s not true he played a lot of different basses.and back in the day they didn’t cost this much money.

who told you that about Entwistle? So untrue! For instance, most of ‘Who Are You’ was recorded on 8 string Hagstrom… and he never used distortion to any great extent.

My god, that finish is fantastic.

John Entwistle played this same bass on every Who album. He had the most distorted bass sound ever.
