I imagine the American Deluxe is great too, but even more expensive than the American Standard. But keep in mind that often when people buy the lower-priced guitars or basses, they almost always end up replacing pickups, bridges and so forth, and spend almost as much as they would on an American Standard! I have American Standard Tele and Strat guitars- superb! No fuss, no muss! Fender has an instant rebate of $100 on the American Standard right now! But I like this guy’s bass too!
I’ve been doing tons of research in the past few days, because I can’t really afford an American Standard, but did you mean an American Special, like in this video (as opposed to an ‘American Standard’?) The American Special is supposed to be somewhat better than the Highway One, plus has the high gloss and replaces the Highway One. American Standards you don’t even have to try out- they’re the best, period! No replacing pickups, bridges, etc. This would be my second choice, though.
so what’s the difference with the american standard and highway one ??? why is in between??
Really great bass !
