For anyone curious about the gloves, its actually due to a medical condition. His hands don’t exactly “cooperate” unless he uses the gloves, its sort of a brain trick. He goes into more detail about it on his website so check it out =) (plus, its just an awesome site)

@DTBass123 Scott could take you Squier and make just the same sound on it. That’s cos the sound ain’t in the machine, it’s in the player. There’s a guy called Coco on Scott’s forum can make a fire damaged wreck of a cheap p-bass copy sound like the real thing. You could own a £22k Fodera and still make crap sounds if you can’t play.

You my friend are a great TEACHER. You actually EXPLAIN things in a way that makes sense to my feeble little brain. So I’m wondering, do you have any videos on learning, understanding, and making logical sense of the fretboard? That would be awesome sauce! Thanks and keep passing on the knowledge.

I like my American P-Deluxe ’cause you have that rear pup(mines a 98′ so it has the fat bridge pup) and you can get a variety of tones if ya wish, some jazz mids etc… and ya can actually slap with it too. But the neck…must be like yours there, just a C shape log. But my big mitts don’t mind. Anyhow..Cool bass ya got there, has that Fender mojo all about Her!

How do you have your eq set up for your pass sound? Is it the same as you use for live playing?

How do the gloves help focal dystonia? I’ve heard of it before, but apparently to overcome it, you need to go back and re-learn how to do the things that cause the twisting and involuntary contractions of the hand. Thanks.

Both basses can easily be fitted with a series/parallel switch which gives a great deal more tonal variation. No drilling – you just need a potientiometer with a push pull switch and a bit of soldering savvy……

First , you can play each style of music with both instruments. You should check out different instruments at your local guitar shop. let your hands and ears decide which instrument fits best .
I would give the Squier Classic Vibe series a try.

Muriske, I purposely came to this video to decide on wether to buy a jazz bass or precision bass from squier as my first bass. I have played guitar for about 4 years now, and i decided to learn bass as well. now, with each bass, apart from physical features, I notice that the precision bass has a very fat tone, and a punch to the note, a however, the Jazz bass is a little less harsh, and has a smoother sound. Currently, im at a stalemate. Could you give me advice on the sound differences?
