hey I want to start making guitars I was wondering
how did you learn to make yours
Do they sound like Alembic bass guitars?
Do you have a video playing them ?
Nice video. But you should of played them so we can hear how they sound.
awesome!
Your guitars are very interesting ! ! Cool design and very good construction. Beautiful !! Congratulations !!
I hope to do this someday. Also with recycled junkyard type items.
I would LOVE to buy a bass from you but… i’m only 15 and no job :/
gorgeous.
Dude you had me already, breaking out the rattle snake strap put me over the top. I am a fan!
Amazing!! If I had money, I would soo buy a bass from you!!
good price for one similar to your 5 string if i was ever going to make a guitar i would use australian ash wood for the surface of the body. who knows it would look cool if you used it on one of your guitars. i would like to see how one like that would turn out. i dont think i could get one like your 5 string if you made it because it would cost P&H as well because im in Australia.
Merry Christmas!. ill keep it if i ever do want one.
@The911SONIC Hey bud, I would charge $6,500 for one similar to my 5 string. I’ve been told my guitars are worth $14,000 to $20,000 as they are easily as good as Alembic guitars. However I would much rather put them in a price range that some musicians can afford not just millionaires lol. If your still interested please e-mail me at alanderguitars@hotmail.ca with some specs and your budget who knows we may be able to tweak the price : ). Cheers!,
Adam
How much would something a bit like your 5 string bass cost to make?
this must be you job
best customs i see
Friggin’ PACKED control cavities. Astounding work, man. Some of the best I’ve ever seen.
and a video of you playing em?
u could make some serious money making guitars because those basses are just ridiculous way better than anything ive seen at guitar center
o.o Man I want one of those basses
amazing..
I’m in the process of designing my guitar at the moment, ready for when i finish my my 2×10 cab and tube amp head build.
I love those contrasting stipes on the back of your guitar and neck. Which woods did you use?
So beautiful.
Is there any way to get a guitar made thats under 1500? >_>
Make me a bass!!
Your basses are insane. 0.0
you are my inspiration
I’ve always wondered how the wire holds up to the acceleration/deceleration associated with winding around a variable radius. Every 90 degrees of rotation, the wire goes from zero velocity to maximum velocity……
As a general rule what kind of ratio should one use between the number of winds to make the pickup not sound awful? (With as few secrets as you can give away, of course.)
This vid gets my vote for the most boring on YT.
like, no.
interesting
A little trick that I learned was to wrap the pickup wire around my lead wires then solder both at the same time I put them in the grommet. It cuts down on time and is much more efficient than trying to thread the pickup wire through those little holes. AjinAnaheim
No, magnets have polarity. The coil has polarity only in as far as which way it is wound/wired. He was referring to reading the DC resistance of the coil. It doesn’t matter which way you connect the leads from the VOM.
Bottom coils is out of phase with the top coil, so they cancel hum together.
You don’t wind to resistance, you wind by number of turns. Thinner wire has a higher resistance per foot, so winding to the same resistance will make a brighter pickup with less output.
It does it you go fast enough and are squeezing the wire tightly.
I love curious George.
im new but what do pick ups do exacly????
What will happen if I use 45 gauge wire in a pick up and wind it up to the same resistance as let’s say 43 gauge,
I know I will have less output, but do you know what is does to the sound?
si los pones en agua no se oxida? minuto .. es agua?
im a little confused, what you made was a humbucker with 1 row of magnets? is the bottom coil dead? its a jazz bass im assuming, so you could get a single coil sound without a hum?
What is the stuff you dipped them into?
Its not clear about the bobbins and the wire. Are they wired in one continous coil somehow. As in the wire doesnt get cut but is threaded through to the second coil. Also if they are wound as seperate coils is direction a key issue?
Ive been trying to find any videos showing the transition with the wire from the 2 boobins. I dont see it here either. Is there some sort of notch or something the wire sits in when its going to be moved to the next bobbin. Also on a 6 string guitar with a stacked pickup I was under the impression you could tap the coil(s), but am I right in thinking you can only tap a coil that has 2 distictly seperate coils. i.e 2 start and 2 finish wires?
What gauge of wire are you using?
first of all pickups have to have polarity to be magnetized
and second of all you can use a multimeter to check if your leads have good connections to the pickup

Ramirez Hello, I have learned a lot from your videos and their techniques, you are a wonderful artist, I want to know is, how many Valter have to be ready to give the pickup.
is the wire just copper wire
wait… what happened to Dr. George???
