if im not mistaking he is using lots of chromatic scales as well as notes in whatever diminish chords he was playing.

Check out symmetrical scales and all of the modes for major and harmonic minor. Also, experiment with your own. ;)

Thanks, I’m glad you enjoy the videos! When I started playing in 2004 I practiced about 6 hours a day for 3 years.  Now I get my practice in whenever I’m playing or recording (before it was just solo practice in my garage). haha I also go to school for music in Boston and I’ve had many teachers. :)
