Hi Kevin.
Thank you very much for this enlightening lesson. Playing walking bass on guitar for me is a cool way to memorize tunes and, well, it relaxes me, too
I do however often find myself not being able to think of good walking bass stuff to play whenever one harmony´s duration is two bars (e.g. as in “Lady Bird” or “Take the A Train”) or even longer, as in modal pieces.
If you or anyone reading this could give me a tip on this it would be very much appreciated.
Greetings
Helge

I think it’s called ” Bumping ” because there was a Wes Montgomery Album by the same name?

You’re fucking brilliant on guitar, but i think you’re expecting the beginner to make some leaps in terms of technique that probably take years to develop
Like “Oh you can just as easily just play some notes on top like THIS (boodeeloodee bwee bop bow) do that it’s easy”

Thank you very much! I’m practicing walking bass so I can join my college jazz band. Turns out walking bass is actually pretty easy…I made it way too difficult in high school.

so i guess the rock guitarist played much more efficient right?
seriously, i find it dumb to bash musicians who play other genres than the ones you personally prefer
