Great job my brotha!! I will use this as a great learning tool. I do wish you would have played chords instead of plucking notes coming out of the bridge. The song looses its power and drive at that point.
Very good job with the rear though, and cool accent my friend. From sunny Los Angeles a big thank you!!!!

Thanks a lot for this, the multiple layers on the recording make it a bit tricky to work out but it’s pretty simple when you get down to it…thanks to your clear and concise explanation! I’ll be using this down at the open mic so all credit goes to you buddy, many thanks

Thanks for posting a guitar tutorial for this great Bruce Springsteen classic. For pianists, the sheet music for Roy Bittan’s wonderful piano part on “Born To Run” can be found at manymidi.com/sheetmusic.htm – a note-for-note transcription.

@Berntzen
I think he hits the bass note and then randomly plucks strings mixed with strums keeping to the rhythme.
I used to struggle with this way of playing but with practise i’m getting better at it.
The important thing is to pluck the bass note and then hold the rhythme by pluck strumming the other notes in the chord but don’ worry too much about hitting particular notes.
Like I say it sounds tricky but it’s not with practise.

@Berntzen I would like to know that to actually. That strumming during the downtoned part of the verse fits perfectly.

Thank you for doing this lesson, great video. I was wondering if you could help me a bit with the strumming pattern for the verse, and also help me with which strings your are hitting when you play them individually later in the verse.
Thanks again
