How he plays the bass is like no other. His voice is so sweet and drifting,
as well as strong when needed, but still that hint of sweetness. He is my
role model, and my personal belief is that he is the best musician that has
ever lived.

Just to set the record straight as opposed to what some people are saying
here, McCartney played bass on both Hey Bulldog and Taxman i think you’ll
find. (I think Harrison played bass on Drive My Car and the guitar solo and
McCartney played the other guitar part – which may be what Andy Divine is
referring to)

What I wouldn’t give for a recreation of his original Ric.

Is there anywhere I can find the Silly Love Songs bass track alone?

That was beautiful. Thank you for posting. I love Mac and his Rickenbacker.
I’m sad that he doesn’t play it anymore. The Hofner is great, but I loved
that beautiful Rickenbacker.

You’re absolutely right. Though he does play with his fingers, occasionally
– notably, his thumb.

I wish he wouldn’t play with a pick, bass sounds so much better with fingers
