Dunlop Strings is proud to partner with world renowned guitar expert Gary Brawer in the production of our new series RESTRING: WITH GARY BRAWER. are bone nuts actually bone or are they a composite material?
skipped the G string
Well, of course I had to cut the strings off just a little too short (first time me restringing a bass)… two strings of my new Dean Markley set straight to the trash bin. I hate it!!
I fucked up god fucking damnit!
What bass is that?? Beautiful.
I was under the impression you had to have as little a break angle as possible, so you don’t have each successive wind of the string above the last.
these strings are freakin amazing
awesome tutorial! thanks dunlop!!
thanks really helpful
Yeah, you’re gonna want to tug it to calm it down…
I just fucked up my bass

WTF my b.c rich warlock paolo signature came with only 2 winds on each post …
‘just’ long enough to go in the whole’- like his penis!
i never thought about winding it manually before… that would have saved me a lot of trouble in the past… lol
I tried restrining my rickenbacker 4001C64 and Im not sure if I cut too much off but the strings are too tight on the neck… do you know what would be the problem?
I’m pretty sure it’s just an electric screwdriver with an attatchment
The very last string he stretches is the G string/last string.
its the Dunlop Turbo tune, and an electric screwdriver. i have the turbo tune, i like it a lot!
I WANT THAT TUNER ELCTRIC MAGIC STICK WINDER THING
beautiful bass
once again thanks profesor X
what abou the last string?
the gain is set way too high, totally distorts the tone.. bad demo
Eat shit and die.
eh i dont like 5 strings the b string is really often pretty inaudible but 6 string is something to look into id go with the vintage
I don’t know whether to buy this RI 62 American vintage bass OR the American Deluxe Jazz Bass 5-string?!?!?!? This thing looks too beautiful….I keep dreaming about it…..But that low B string is something I crave for……Then again maybe 5 strings are all hype anyways….SOMEONE HELP…..
It says 9/59 and that has to be the date the neck, at least, was made. If they sold them as 60′s I’m sure they had to make them up first before they sent them out. That’s only three months ahead.
I didn’t think there was such a thing as a 59′ Jazz. Don’t you mean 9-60?? Check out the video I posted of my candy red 60′ Jazz. It’s a 9-60 neck date and is all original. It’s incredible.
I have an original Jazz bass and it has 9/59 on the neck. I still play it and it sounds better than my Anniversary model USA made bass. These basses are worth a lot of money and I don’t know if there are many still played today. I’m recording a CD with mine and the recording engineer chose the 60 over the 06. It just has a great sound and mine is married to an Ampeg SVT with two 8-10 bottoms. You just have to hear it and play it.
I had a model like this, but didn’t like it – the extreme neck taper was annoying, & the tone was a little light — I wanted a deep P-bass tone at the time, that was cooler than the twang of the Jazz. Even stripped off the sunburst & stained it cherry-wood tone, that was a popular look too, sort of instant weathering – then I dropped out of school & pawned it : P If you have it (there’s a deep ding on the bottom edge & a scar on the face where I sanded too hard) I hope you’re enjoying it
Please, roll down the gain on the amp… bass sound so distorted(
Nice instrument but I get a sick feeling when someone starts bending round wound strings on fragile vintage frets. This is a NEW BASS, NO??
You know, I disagree about the general preferance of taking the covers off a vintage bass. I have a few 1960s fenders and I prefer to play with covers on. I do play with my fingers tho…
love to see that new original bridge and as a matter of priority get those covers off of there!!
LOOKING NICE and playability are far removed.
beautiful guitar
Volume and Tone Control is the best as Fender make to the 60 and 62 Bass Model !…
чё-то у меня звука нет…
