I’m a Lefthanded Bass since 1989, and tried to play righty but no good. If
I try to play righty its exactly like this for me.

yay for lefties with left handed basses! shame it makes it hard to play
with someone else’s bass when you visit them. Though it gives a strange
satisfaction back when you see them playing on yours (I know, I shouldn’t
feel that way about it, but hey, I’m just human)

Would’ve been funny if Steve said, “Yea, no problem!” and played the scale
right up the G string using just his first finger.

Wow Steve is such a humble guy. He sure is great. Has to be , to be so
vulnerable.

There are two things you’ll want to make sure you do. I click track my
recordings to the tempo of the song, so you’ll want to make sure you keep
your timing and also, I’d prefer the recording to be pretty straight
forward like it is on the song. Where i liked the creativity of this video
and it definitely shows your talent to play around in the key with
different phrasings, it would take away from the rest of the song.. if you
know what i mean. :)

to pin it down

I love the original, but if I could replace the original bass with yours I
think the song would be even better :)

hahah dont be saddened it is more than possible to play on a 4 string as
the lowest note in the song is E flat so if you tune each string on your
bass a semi-tone down you will be good to go! check out my comments i
previously posted as responses to tabs for the notes used in the song.
thanks for watching

the chord stucture is pretty simple and is the same throughtout the whole
song. It begins on E flat (4th fret of the Low B string) for 4 bars, then F
sharp (2nd fret of the E string) for 4 bars, then B flat (6th fret of the E
string) for 4 bars and then finally G sharp (4th fret of the E string)
for 4 bars then repeats. You should be able to work out the rhythm of the
notes from the song itself or my plucking hand in this video. As far as i
know the song is in C sharp major, hope this helped!

Thanks man. An MP3 would be fine enough. What I was meaning by a raw file
is a raw bass signal not already affected by an amp or EQ settings. You
could basically listen to the song on headphones and record your bass
straight into your computer and send me that. If you have the time.

well this video is all improvised really and i worked out the chord
structue by ear so i have no tabs :( but the chord stucture is pretty
simple and is the same throughtout the whole song. It begins on E flat for
4 bars, then F sharp for 4 bars, then B flat for 4 bars and then finally G
sharp for 4 bars then repeats. You should be able to work out the rhythm of

No dude. This was sick. If you plugged in and played a basic line, why
record it and put it on YouTube? You’d have no views. The point was to
groove to that song and lay down some extra funk. Great stuff.
