Bass Guitar Scale – Minor Pentatonic Bass Guitar Scale
The bass guitar scale know as the minor pentatonic scale is used widely by blues bass players and under minor chords. I use this bass guitar blues scale for playing rock, blues and under any minor chord in any music style.
I play the minor pentatonic bass guitar scale by playing the following notes from your major scale: 1 -b3 – 4 – 5 – b7. In the key of C the bass guitar scale would be C – Eb – F – G -Bb. It’s the scale of C minor without the 2 or 6 notes. The following image shows you how to play the pentatonic minor scale.

The minor pentatonic bass scale are the same notes as the relative Major key’s pentatonic major scale. I find this very useful to know when playing under chords in uncertain keys.
